Description
The interplay between religions and politics has historically been complex and multifaceted, influencing peace and reconciliation processes worldwide. This relationship can manifest in various ways, impacting societal cohesion, conflict resolution, and the establishment of lasting peace. In this case, the reconciliation process in Rwanda required the intervention of several approachesfrom Religiousbased Organizations and Politics. In this study, the observation made with the forty reconciled parish communities shows that the rehabilitation of antagonistic people facilitates reconciliation. The overall goal of this method was initially reconciliation between victims and perpetrators of crimes through forgiveness, "the key to reconciliation" facilitated by inner healing. The merit of this approach is to allow the victims and the offenders to liberate each other mutually. The novelty of this method consists of community growth supported by the techniques of taking time (patience) to adapt to change, grow emotionally, and learn from failure and success. Onthe side of the Government, there is the philosophy of Ndi Umunyarwanda (I am Rwandan), a remedy and a bond, introduced during the senate meeting of11 December 2018. Therefore, the Ndi Umunyarwanda initiative is a journey that all Rwandansdecided to undertake together which has an origin, a purpose, and a goal in fundamentalprinciples that Rwandans have decided to embrace. Thepurpose of those fundamentalprinciples is to ensure unity among Rwandans such that their unity becomesa bond, the source of their dignity, right, and responsibilityof everyone to his country. The Ndi Umunyarwanda concept is based on Rwandans'decisionson governance and social transformation based on supposed true identity rather than baseless principles. The merits of both approaches are that they facilitate reconciliation with God, oneself, neighbors, andthe whole world. Forgiveness likereconciliation education is therefore a holistic method because it combines multiple aspects to meet all human needs2whose security is at the center of unity.
